The Kindness Prescription
When you are kind you to your kids, your spouse, your colleagues, and your family, you feel happier and you will be healthier.
And yet, it is HARD to do this all of the time.
Just last night, as I was putting my youngest daughter to bed, I was too short. I was tired and she kept turning on the light to get things, and do things. The tone of my voice changed and it wasn't super kind...
Can you relate?
Dr. Kelli Harding is a leading researcher, speaker, and author on kindness. I wanted to share her "Kindness Prescription" with you.
1) Seek varied relationships - We need strong and weak ties in our lives.
2) The power of hello - Look up from your phone and say hi to strangers.
3) Be curious - Ask how someone's day is going.
4) Expect rejection - This could be from your kids for example. Keep trying to be kind.
5) Cultivate inner peace and create community
Have kindness be your goal. To yourself, to your family and friends, to the people you work with, online, and with strangers.
