Lighten the Invisible Load

How many tabs do you have open in your head right now? Work, messages and emails from your children’s schools, appointments, managing the home, playdates, etc. No, you are not going insane. You are expected to excel in your career, manage all the items for your children, take care of the home, take care of yourself, and do it all with a smile.

The invisible and mental load for working moms is getting more and more attention and there are plenty of reasons for that.

You can think and feel lighter. You life can be calmer and more balanced.

After being a working mom for over a decade, I know when my invisible load it “too much”. It is when resentment towards my husband builds, when I have a shorter fuse, and when I feel that I am losing my JOY and spark.

Here are my three proven strategies to lighten the invisible load and I truly hope they help you.

A Lighter and Brighter You

  1. Delegation: You can delegate anything and everything in your mind, for you children, and with the home to your partner. The key is to set times where you are not emotionally charged and share your needs, your emotions, and collaborate together. Your partner wants you to be happy and regulated. Delegate, reflect, and keep communicating you can always adjust.

  2. Let Go: Write down all the parts of your invisible and mental load and intentionally choose to let some of it go. It might be just for now and it might be forever. YOU CAN DO LESS. You learn a lot and experience life differently when you slow down and do less.

  3. Stop Comparing: There are so many societal, work, family, and other expectations placed on you. You are not in competition with any other working mom. You are incredible and the only person to compare yourself to is you yesterday.

Let me know which one supports you the most and if you have any questions,

Tia

PS - Your kids are SO lucky to have you!
